THIRD- post by NICOLE PRISCO:

The presentation on fashion in West Africa brought up many different topics to talk about.  I found the discussion on portraits to be very interesting and somewhat debatable.  The whole idea of whether something is a "portrait" or "not a portrait" is completely opinionated.  In magazines a portrait can be of a person in their everyday life walking down the street.  When that same person is standing near a popular business or store the intentions of the image change.  Overall, the way that an image is taken can influence the way that the audience views and interprets the image.

SECOND- post by NICOLE PRISCO:

These are a few images that I had taken prior to this spring semester class.  I really enjoy taking images of landscapes but enjoy photographing anything and everything.  I had a little trouble uploading pix the other night, and the blog kept freezing up when I got to the uploading part, but it all worked out.  Besides this blog I accidentally created a second one in the process of creating this one.  Hopefully, I will find a way to edit them out, so that I only have this one main blog to work with.  I will keep uploading more images as the weeks progress.

Obsession Project (5 favorite images)

FIRST- post by NICOLE PRISCO:

So these five images are out of a series of about 125 images that I submitted for class.  I like how I took pictures from many different points of view as well as different lighting areas.  As you can tell my subject was "bottles" and I photographed a wide variety of bottles.  I photographed shampoo, soap, mouthwash, parfume, cologne, water bottles, wine bottles, cooking oils, and fruit juice bottles, just to name a few.  Overall, I found that this project was a way to show the many different angles and points of view of simple everyday objects.
